Book club update - October 18th 2020, 10:00 AM

I thought I posted something about this but I guess I didn't?

Anyway, I'm gonna be trying to start the book club up again. I want to do it quarterly starting in January. That would give people enough time to acquire the book and read it. Ideally we will have a chat set up to discuss and up to a certain point no spoilers... Or I could teach you all how to do spoilers.

I have a few ideas for books but I want to emphasize that I might not have read all the books so there could be triggers.

I look forward to this! Where would the book club discussion take place?

If we had a discord chat, we could discuss it throughout the three months. We would just need to use spoiler tags until the last month.

I definitely like the idea of setting up a Book Club group on Discord! But I think it should be under the TeenHelp server.

I need to use Discord more but otherwise, I'm happy with this set-up

These are the books I would suggest for January:

The House In The Cerulean Sea ( I read this and loved it...new favorite)
You Should See Me In My Crown (Super cute as well)

George

Felix Ever After

The Vanishing half

Would people primarily be getting books from the library or would you be purchasing?

I think for me personally, it would be a bit of both. If I really like the book, I'll be purchasing it.

I'm just trying to figure out how many are buying or checking out because due to the state of the world... Libraries are limited. Also, the books I suggested are all new releases and the libraries might not have them or there might be long waits.

I don't mind purchasing. I don't think my local library is even open right now

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Do you all have a limit on what you'd spend?

I would be getting books off my Amazon Kindle. I am subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, which allows me to rent as many books as I want a month. For purchasing — also on Amazon Kindle — I would rather spend no more than $8 or $9 USD.
