TH Book Club: Some questions - August 30th 2017, 04:34 AM

So, I have a few questions:

1) Are people still interested in the book club? It is definitely only a voluntary thing but it seems like only one or two people participate each month. I never expected a lot of people to participate but if people aren't interested or only a small group of people are interested there might be better ways to do 'buddy reads'.
2) Is there something I can do to help you be more interested or to improve the book club in general.
3) Do you have any other thoughts or suggestions?

I'm still interested! Buddy reads sounds cool as well.

I'm just speculating but am wondering if it's due to the social groups not being very active/not having notifications and that might be part of the reason. But not sure what you can do about that though.

Would be interesting to hear what others think!

Like Holly said, it's probably because you don't get notification from the social groups and they're not active to begin with. What about creating a Facebook group for the TH Book Club? Of course, you may have to ask Rob to approve if you include "TeenHelp" in the title. Or you can choose an alternate title, and invite users from the site.

Re: TH Book Club: Some questions - August 30th 2017, 01:20 PM

I've thought about making a Facebook group for discussion.

I'd probably just create an alternate title and let people know that it's not really associated with teenhelp.

An alternative to a Facebook group could be creating a thread where we can discuss the books.

Since threads close after about two weeks I could easily post it when there are only about two weeks left of the month.

The main reason I am hesitant to create a Facebook group is I know there are people on th who either don't have a Facebook or don't feel like giving out that info and I don't want anyone to feel excluded. Also, being on th would make it a tad bit easier to moderate.
