So, I just discovered the wonder that is the author Kurt Vonnegut. I've only had a chance to read three of his books (Cat's Cradle, Hocus Pocus and Slaughter-House Five). I was wondering if there were any other Vonnegut fans out there, what you've read, what you got from the story and why you like it?
Thanks! |

I read Slaughterhouse-Five over the summer. I had heard about it earlier and thought that it would really be worth a read. I thought it was interesting, but I'll honestly say I did not overly enjoy it. It was okay, but not my kind of reading. The concept was a little strange to me.

i love vonnegut. slaughterhouse-five is one of my favorite books! i've read a couple of short stories by him. the euphio question, report on the barnhouse effect and harrison bergeron were all great. the last one was actually turned into a short film which i have yet to see.

I don't like his style, despite choosing interesting topics to write about. The way he explains a story just puts me to sleep.

Well I guess different strokes for different folks. I love the way he writes - it keeps me awake and it gets me thinking! ;]
Slaughter-House Five is definitely one of my favorites, too. I love that he incorporates war into most of his stories. Maybe I just like morbid war books. =D |
