The Lord of the Rings
The Sword of Truth Tolkien was a poetic and story telling genius. The god of fantasy. Terry Goodkind has the greatest character development I've ever read. You will laugh, cry, want to hide, and want to stand up against injustice- all from a single sentence. That's the type of writing he does. Wonderful series, and one of few in the fantasy genre that doesn't rip Tolkien .
"Why isn't bull-riding (Beef NASCAR as I call it) the American sport to end all sports? It's an epic battle of the wills between a man and an angry cheeseburger; and if that doesn't typify our awesome civilization, I don't know what does." |

I've just finished reading City of Glass...
...I fell in love with it. Offically the best book I've ever read. Maybe it's not my weekend but it's gonna be my year.

Pilgrim - Timothy Findley
Amazing book, one of my favorites, reading it was like eating chocolate. I'm trying to think of my favorite one from Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series, but I loved them all, I would recommend them to anyone who likes a bit of originality in their books. ~Where death is I am not, where I am death is not, so we never meet~ I'd rather die terrified than live forever. We will all die so gloriously, that having ever lived will seem like folly. |

Now I'm trying to think of 'best' as in 'best written' instead of the books I most enjoy. I think there is a difference between liking a book because the writing works and liking a book because it is what you enjoy reading.
Best written: Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad Watership Down by Richard Adams The Lords of the Rings by JRR Tolkien Most enjoyed: Tithe by Holly Black I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak ![]() The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way. Everyone has a story. What's yours? |

Oh my word. I love the Freedom Writers' Diary, Meera. It's lovely.
I don't actually know what my favorite book is. I think I have a lot of favorites! However, we do have a thread very similar to this, which can be found here - it's still open and active and all of that, so I'm going to close this thread and send you guys to that one. Peace. (: ![]() |
