What's the name????

I can't remember the name of a book that I read to my mom about three or four years ago. Her and I both want to find the book so we can read it again, but we sold the book at a yard sale, and we can't remember the title or author. The book is about a teenage girl's life after her mom dies of a sudden heart attack or stroke(we don't remember which one). In the first chapter her mother gets her up in the middle of the night so they can go outside in the rain. The mother yells at her daughter to 'drink the rain', and she is dancing around in a red dress. After her mother dies the main character goes to live with her aunt and uncle(I'm pretty sure at least). I know that the cover is of a women in a short red dress, dancing in the rain. I'm almost positive that the name of the book has the word rain in it. Something like Drink the Rain, or Dance in the Rain.

Does anyone recognize this book, and if you do, do you know the name of the author?

ive never herd of that book, but have you tried amazon it might give you the answer on amazon like type in the title of the book and see what comes up on amazon ?

Is the book called Girlhearts by Norma Fox Mazer, by any chance? She also wrote a book called After the Rain, but I think you might be talking about Girlhearts. :)
