Hey Megan
By overcoming issues, do you mean coming of age novels?I would recommend: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (This one is amazing!) The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson (Haven't read this but by the same author od Speak! It's also an "overcoming issues" book) A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith (*Gushes* Love this book, haha) Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska by John Green Little Women by Louisa May Alcott Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver The Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live |

I recommend a piece of cake by cupcake brown and the invisible girl by peter barham. while the invisible girl isn't about how she overcame her problems but how because of her so many others did. It's such a moving story about a girl who reached out for help and an absent father who rose to the challenge

Have you read any books by Jodi Picoult? Or Ellen Hopkins? You may enjoy some of those.
Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |
