What were/are the best and worst books you've had to read for school?

Best

To Kill A Mockingbird
The Catcher in the Rye

Worst

There are no best that come to mind.

Worst:
The Scarlet Letter
Lord of the Flies
Red Badge of Courage
Death of a Salesman
Romeo and Juliet
Some book about basketball...

Other classes got to read Ender's Game, which is actually good, but not me, noooo.

Worst book I had to read for my Honors English class was "Cold Sassy Tree". I fell asleep reading the first chapter.

Some of these are summer reading, some of these are regular class reading.

Best:
The Giver
Night
Ryan White: My Own Story
The Secret Life of Bees
My Brother Sam is Dead

Worst:
Project Mulberry
The Call of the Wild
Romeo & Juliet
The Odyssey
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens

I'm sure there's more for each, but my mind's going blank.

I liked the Lord of the Flies.
The best one is: Animal Farm.
The worst one is: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

The best books are the ones my class are reading this year, Lord of The Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird. (Is it considered cheating since I've read these books at least twice already and have them at home?) The worst was Dear Ellen Bee - boring!!

Worst: Lord of the Flies, and Life of Pi
Best: shit son, how do I even start to list my favourites????? all Shakespeare, all Oscar Wilde, Handmaid's Tale, anything by Austen... I pretty much like all the classics, and some of the modern stuff that got forced down my throat (atwood mentioned, ee cummings, etc) was pretty fabulous too.

I would also like to add that I did like "the Lovely Bones", which was required my junior year. I think "Feed" was a good one too, but kinda creepy since it's so realistic.

I see people put "the Giver". I loveee that book, but it was never required for my school. I read it in the 5th grade for fun.

I don't really remember any good ones, but Touching Spirit Bear and The Outsiders were just horrendous.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."
