Writing my own story... Advice needed -

So I have thought of a plot line and I am having trouble thinking if its good and worth my time to write.
A father never meets his son. The father gets in a accident. The person he got in the accident with is his son. The dad gets reincarnated in his sons body and sees how messed up his life is and tries to make sons life better before his time is up.... Please let me know what you think and if this is worth writing, I know I didnt write that much but I dont want to give alot away.. Romeo & Juliet "He jests at scars that never felt a wound".

I think the best way to tell is to just try and write based off that idea and see where it goes. Usually if I can't think of anything to say after only a page or two, then I move on to the next idea. It just takes some trial and error
