Good books about eating disorders - January 24th 2012, 05:13 PM

For my class in school I'm going to have to read a book and write paper on a subject and I want to do eating disorders I've already read: Skinny, the best little girl in the world( I think the title is or that might be the one about cutting either way I read both of those), I've read half of wintergirls until i lost it.

Are there any really good ones out there you can recommend?

I awaken, and untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed?
All my windows, still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

I've read the anorexia diaries. And it wasn't bad and I wouldn't not recommend it but it was a bit disappointing at times. Worth it though.

Wasted by Marya Hornbacher is a good one, and it's a true story.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

I always did too, non-fiction is a true story Fiction means it's made up.
