Stupid Cyberbullying Cowards >.< -

So you all know the website Formspring, right? Well, if you don't, or if you do, you would know it's an ANONYMOUS website where you post questions to friends and they answer. Well, I had mine up and running, and I wasn't getting funny silly questions from my friends. I was getting insults from random people. And I was getting incredibly personal questions about being gay. Basically, I wasbeing harassed. I shut down the website because it upset me so much, but they effected me. I used to run around with gay pride stickers and buttons and stuff all over my backpack, but apparently I was being "annoying." I was being "obsessed with being gay." So now I'm afraid to be myself. I've been silenced. I know I shouldn't let them get to me, but they did, and it's effected me. It sucks. What do I do to get over this? I've been bullied before, but these are cowards. They hide behind a computer screen. I need to get over this. I've talked to my advisor and othe teachers at my school, but no one has given me ANYTHING helpful to deal with this. Any ideas?
Hey, I'm Jonah. I like Degrassi, writing, and hanging out with friends. I'm sixteen years old and I am FTM transgender, although these days I identify more as just plain male.
I just wrote up a huge thing about the significance of my username, just to find out it was too long. So if you're curious about it, feel free to ask me. I used to go on here a lot, but lately I don't go on very much at all. Either way, you should still leave me a message some time, I'm very friendly ![]() |

It is great that you realize that what they are doing is wrong. I would maybe report ur to the people that run the site and see if something could be done.

Well i wear a waist coat to ice skating, But I kept my head held high and the insults dissapeared. Remember that bullies only beat you if they think your affected by it. As long as you keep looking happy, You can have a conversation with one for hours as longs as you pretend you couldn't care in the least, (laughing usually helps).
Two ideas: Time will usually heal everything keep a smile on your face and it will go away soon Or Start wearing those badges and go back on that site. And set things straight. Online you have time to think of a witty retort. (just keep calm though you lose if show a negitive emotion.) And when you wear badges and what not. You simply have to say to people. I accept gay people in socity, and that is why i wear them. (don't try using an indepth answer, ignorant works best on bullies.) But most importantly always keep a smile on your face, keep your head high, and look them in the eyes when you talk to them. those tricks always unerve bullies. Hope that helps -BPS ![]() |

Yo, what up bro? Don't listen to these haters. Let 'em hate talk, everyone chirps up on the computer.. People used to chirp me on the computer and be all fake in school when I'd confront them they'd be like "oh no man I was kidding".
People deal with their own crap by putting it out on other people, whether it's online or bullying.. They usually don't actually wanna hurt you, physically, mentally or emotionally but they try and feel better about themselves. The best advice is stand up for yourself... People will get mad at me for saying this, but if you don't stand up for yourself, they're gonna keep bullying you, then other bully's are gonna contribute because you took it from that other guy, and then you'll be depressed and everyone'll bully you, if you just ignore it. Stand up for yourself, if it ends in something that you think might turn into physical... Go grab a teacher, or a parent, and settle it in the office (Don't stand down in the office, keep standing up for yourself.. They can't hurt you there). And if it does result physical, good enough, make sure you land the first punch :P Sorry this doesn't exactly go straight into the topic, but it's advice that should last for other situations.. And although some might not agree, I've had a lot of experience with bullying myself... |

Hey, Liza. I had a few of those questions myself, the best thing to do is just deactivate your account. I mean, cyber bullies are worse than real-life bullies. Simply because on the internet, you have to be the bigger person and walk away, since you don't know them and can't tell anyone usually. And I mean, fighting with them over the internet isn't going to get you anywhere. It's just not worth your time and you don't really win anyways.
Have you ever heard "gay is yay?" Wait, not my point xD. If people are saying you're annoying for being you and being proud of who you are, then they're not worth your time simply. Do not let this silence you, you are who you are and there's no changing that. There's plenty of people that like you for you. And if they don't, well don't change yourself to fit their standards. I think you should just get off the site. I mean, it's just a website and ever since cyber-bullying has came up on there, most people have left. It's one of those things that get really big and cool very fast and then something happens, causing it to crash. I mean, you were happy with yourself before, try to get back to that place you were in. PM me anytime. ![]() Take care, Immy. [you can fly, but that only
means that the sky will fall on your head sooner] |

It does just seem like something that is going to cause trouble. Especially if it's anonymous. It's just like the Honesty Box thing on Facebook. But I won't get into that.
"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |

Most people would look at this and laugh because they think the internet is nothing to be taken seriously, but now a days it is. Especially when things get personal.
Let me tell you something, these people hide behind a computer just to make people like you fear them and how you might live. They are annoymous and they laugh behind their little masks while they make you feel uncomfortable. Think about it like this though, they wear these masks all the time now. Like they never have an identity. While you can be more open, to not wear a mask and to let your face shine free. So in the end their masks are now their faces, which make them nothing. You are open while they wear the masks. You a free and they are closed. Don't close up because of some trolls, you are you and no one should tell you that you are wrong. So stay open and stay free. |

It's an anonymous website, I'm sure many of the comments are just acts of stupidity and not meant to be taken seriously so don't let it affect you in the real world. If the comments are abusive to you, then just click ignore or block the people giving the comments. It's just people trolling around or being idiots, or the off-chance they actually believe what they say, and in either case, just be yourself and ignore the clowns because that's what they are, clowns.
Closing it down because some people cry when they read troll-ish comments? Sorry, that's just ridiculous. When you go to a website where you ask unknown people who are anonymous, especially on a website such as that one, expect silly comments, don't take it so personally, you need to learn to have things roll off your back and not get angry, depressed, crying, etc... from such nonsense. Just because the website doesn't give nice positive comments and a pat on the head each time you ask something doesn't mean it should be closed down, it means you should get used to the real world because the real world has jerks and isn't all smiles and rainbows. |

Seriously, 'shit happens'. By this I mean just ignore them, as you said they cowards if they're having to ask it on the internet. You could just delete the questions that they ask. Or just answer their answer sarcastically to show them you don't care what they think. Though to be honest, if you're just getting harassment then it's not worth having it.

Like the others have said, yeah, they're cowards, and you shouldn't let them get to you. You are who you are, and if they don't like it, screw them. Be proud to be yourself. *hugs*
Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |
