Peer Pressure and Bullying Social pressure can take many different forms, including intimidation, bullying and even physical attacks. If you feel you could be a victim or perpetrator (who wishes to stop) of bullying, talk about it here.

Dear Joseph, - January 2nd 2012, 12:10 AM

I'm so sorry that I bullied you at school. I know I wasn't the worst but I was with that group. You left our school because of us and I'm so sorry. Your atchually a really really nice guy and I feel so bad that I called you gay and made fun of you. I wish I didn't and I feel really guilty. I did it out of peer pressure. I really hope that one day you could forgive me.

And to all out there. If you get into a group of 'friends' who like to take the mick and really hurt some people get out of the group! Whatever it takes and at whatever cost because the guilt and shame goes right down to the core of your heart. Think about the other person! Please! It's not worth it seriously.
Take a stand!

Thank you for this message - and most importantly thank you for telling yourself that you did something wrong and need to make up for it. The problem is people don't think bullying is wrong, and some don't even recognize it as bullying. Bullying is a epidemic that must end - and I'm glad you realized that.

Best wishes,
Chris

Hey there,

Well done for writing this and realising that what you did upset people. It's true, bullying does hurt you too when you feel guilty for it afterwards. You gave some good advice there when you said people should take a stand. Bullying is seen often but often ignored. It's truly a great thing that you're learning from your mistakes and telling other people, from experience, that to take a stand is better. I'm really impressed and proud of you for doing that. You obviously still feel bad though. Maybe you could find a way to apologise to the person, or if you can't, tell yourself that it's in the past now and you can move on and not do it again. It was a mistake that you made, and with any mistake, you can learn from it and not make the same one again.

Good luck, and well done.
Hollie.

Hey,

I'm very proud of you for writing this. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge what you did wrong and I'm also proud that you have said sorry, even if it's not to the person as of yet. I really do hope you get a chance to say sorry to the person you bullied, and hopefully that will reduce the guilt you feel. As the saying goes, "we learn from our mistakes" and I'm glad that you've taken time to realize that what you did was wrong and that you're going to take something positive out of this experience and not do the same type of thing again.

Take care, if you need anything at all; feel free to PM me.
