Why do people hate skinny girls? -

I have been bullied since I've entered 6th grade for being skinny.
 Now i am NOT anorexic. I am naturally skinny. I happen to have a high metabolism ....but kids my age don't seem to understand the difference. I've been called a "skeleton", a "twig", a "stick", etc....and I'm tired of it. When kids see me on the street ESPECIALLY boys, they call me ugly and bony and anorexic. This is what makes me afraid of entering high school next year.

Hey there!
 First of all, you're perfect the way you are. Most girls would love to be -skinny-. And, they're probably jealous. It's not your fault you have a high metabolism. But, look at it this way.. you can't please everyone. There is always gonna be someone unhappy. And, that's okay. If you were to have alot of meat on your bones, you would be fat. If you're just right, you're either fat or anorexic. If you're skinny, you're anorexic. See what I mean? You can't please everyone, the easiest person to please is yourself. For the boys, they're just jerks. They know it gets to you. So, the best thing to do is ignore them. I know it's hard. But, once they get the message that it's getting old and doing nothing to you, they will -most- likely leave you alone. If not, tell trusted adult and get help. It's not snitching. They're hurting you. So, don't worry what they say about. I hope you're doing well, and I hope everything turns out okay. <3-Michelle

I'm in the same situation as you. The thing is they don't know you really well (is what I am guessing.) So they want to label you. You're skinny they don't think its normal. A label is slapped on your face basically. People like others to have big butts and stuff. Which I don't understand that. Sorry these people are doing this to you. You're perfect. Don't let them bring you down. They don't know the real facts.

It's jealousy, and people dont understand how the body works. It's not your fault, and you shouldn't have to stuff your face to get people to like you.
Everyone is beautiful the way they are, and shouldn't change to get others to see that. I'm sorry you are dealing with this, it's crappy.  |

I know what you mean. In the 7th grade I was called anorexic. And I've been told by a boy that I'm too skinny and he says I starve myself. It really hurts because sometimes I do starve myself and if he knew that would he feel bad?
But in 7th grade I was underweight naturally and a girl called me anorexic several times. It's sad that people use eating disorders to insult others because it's a severe problem. -xoxo; golauren <3

I was the same when I was your age. People bullied me for it too :/ most of them were jealous in my opinion. I'm 21 now and I'm technically overweight

I've felt exactly the same way since I was twelve. Girls who have trouble with their weight get jealous and think that just because you're skinny you have no feelings. It's silly. You have my sympathy.

Thank you but i believe it's mainly because of stereotypes. Like since I'm black, people expect me to be curvy wit like a big butt and not just skinny.

Some People tend to attack other people just to feel superior, to be funny for their friends or just because they have no respecto or education. Don't worry about it and don't take it seriously and just face them, making them understand how childish and pointless those comments and insults are... If u were fat they would insult u for that, or if u had glasses or a pink shirt, so don't blame it on yourself, because u are how u are and that's perfectly fine. If they don't have better things to do than insulting a girl without reason it is they who have a problem, not you!

From my experience, at your age there are always idiots that are going to try to find ways to make fun of you no matter what you look like. I was fat and was made fun of all the time for it. Other kids my age were of average height and weight, but other ways were always found to make fun of them. Unfortunately it's something that a lot of people go through.
Be proud of your body and don't let some idiot on the street make you feel uncomfortable. Some of the most beautiful women I know are "twigs." Besides, you'll have the last laugh when you're older and everyone else is struggling to keep the weight off.
