I have generalized anxiety disorder and I have an appointment set up June 6th to discuss the possibility of putting me on lexapro.
I was just wondering if anyone has taken/is taking lexapro and what you experience with it has been like. Do you still feel like yourself just with a clearer mind therefore making you happier? or did it change you a lot? I just would like to know anything about your experience with lexapro ~Samantha~

Everyone reacts differently to medication. No one can tell you how you will react with it. Go in with a positive mindset though. For me it didn't work but that doesn't mean it can't work for you.

I've been on Lexapro for 6 years, and it has pretty much no side effects on my end. It does help with my generalized anxiety.

My mom is on Lexapro and everything is perfectly fine! No side effects I have noticed.
Just one warning, don't take it while you are pregnant because it results in birth defects ![]() But other then that its a really good anti depressant and I hope your appointment goes well! Good luck Samantha!

I've been on Lexapro for about one and a half to two months for depression, and personally for me I feel as if it's making my anxiety worse. I don't want to scare you or anything like that, but for me it doesn't work for the anxiety. I feel more alive on it, I feel more content, more level mood-wise. So... that's my opinion on it
Good luck.
