Decorating bedroom - February 3rd 2010, 10:24 AM

Ok so I'm sick of what my bedroom looks like at the moment, the walls are a very very light lilca colour with disgusting wall paper and it annoys me.
I want something that is grown up, I love the wall papers with flowers and such on and I'd like a feature wall with one on.
The problem though is my room is tiny, all I can fit in here is a bed raised up off the floor with a stufy bunk underneath and a wardrobe.
I'd love a nice proper bed but I'd loose so much floor space ; ;
Any one able to give me some possible design ideas and such to make my room look nice and grown up but not take up too much floor space?

You can buy a bunk bed that underneath has a built and desk and chair. Then you can put in a TV and watch it from the chair or the top bunk.
As for design, I would hit up the local library and look through some magiznes and get some ideas.

Get a sofa bed, that way you won't have a big bed at all times after you get up just but it back to a sofa. They are so comfortable.

daybeds are also nice, you don't fold them up though google a pic of one if you're not sure.
good luck!

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

The bed I have now has a futon underneath it and a desk with my tv etc on it.
I like the daybed idea but then I'd loose valuable floorspace ; ;
I just wish I could have my brothers room since he's gone to uni, but there's no hope in that.

Hey there,

I had a friend that had an extremely small room and her and her parents redecorated when she went into high school. They got a daybed and they were able to put a desk,a dresser and a small bookshelf.

One suggestion I would make is to measure your room and what not and then go into a bedroom store and get the measurements to some of the things you would want.

Your room might be a little cramped, my friends was, but if it is done correctly it won't be a big deal.

Best of luck,

Jenna

Everyday
is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, I feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

That looks nice but the bed looks kinda small for a person to fit in. Maybe it's just the picture though.

I've seen those fold-up beds that you lift up and strap to the wall, that could be a good idea.

I don't care if that's for little kids or not. That is like, the coolest thing ever.
I want one...

As for space wise... I think all the options have been said. =/ a daybed, fold up couch, or the one that I've only ever seen in movies or tv where it folds up into the wall or something. Or the bunkbed and put a desk underneth and such. I like that idea :P That's what my brother and his roomate do at their college dorm, except underneth is not a desk but their silly little Xbox space. Their desks are at the foot of their beds, and little gaming chairs and TVs are set up under the beds.

Take me seriously.
I dare you.

Try a futon (what the other's have been calling a daybed). They are usually about as big as a full size bed.

Or you could try a futon bunk bed with storage too. Here is one: http://www.futonwithbunkbed.com/pictures/WCM124.jpg

Get stackable storage, and storage under your bed.
And shelves. Loads of shelves.

I'll be honest, I've kind of always wanted a box room. I adore small spaces. Although I can imagine it can get frustrating after a while.
