Can I join an Idian Reservation? -

Ok, this is probably a very stupid question, but when I was twelve, I was gonna run away and live on an Indian Reservation. I was kinda hoping they would take me out of kindness because as far as I know, Im one hundred percent white (My grandpa forgot a little bit of his ancestry, though). Is there any possible way of living on an Indian Reservation without being an Indian? Like, can you join a tribe?

yeah i am part black foot native and cree but i look white and my family on my dads side is so hard to trace due to my grampa being dead and my grandma was adopted, my moms side no one will give me the family tree for physicial proof i cant even get my card thingy to say im aboriginal...it sucks, but no you cannot just join a tribe especially if you are not native, also indian can sometimes be an offensive term to some.

No, you have to be born into one or the tribal elder has to accept you in... Very few non- tribal member get "accepted in".

no, usually you must be a certain percent Idian to join a reservation, and it must be able to be traced. Also, it must be of that tribe or group of tribes.

My friend has an uncle that lives on a reservation for his government contract job, but it's temporary and in a trailer the US government. I think my sister is going to live off of the reservation with her boyfriend because he's doing dental work for the reservation.

You can certainly buy a house on the reservation and live there, but no. You can't join without being born in, or the tribal elder accepting you, which hardly EVER happens. Sorry kid.
