Make sure you set a budget! I know that I personally, always get carried away when shopping for my bedroom. It's good you have a theme to go towards. I would make a list of what you need, like new bed sheets or even a new bed, whatever it is, and then go online and look at what prices are at different stores and what you like. That will make kind of like a price range and narrow down the stores you'll go to. For the paint, check out the sale paint first. You know the stuff that people buy but then return and the store sells for WAY less? You'd save a lot of money if you can find what you're looking for in there. I would also suggest going to second hand shops to get the 'vintage' kind of vibe. You'll never know what you'll find there. Maybe even sew your own curtains out of old sheets if it's cheaper that way. Take your favorite pictures of you and your friends and edit them on picnik any way you want (You could do the old 'black and white' to go with your vintage theme). Maybe paint your favorite quote about peace up on a wall or even quote one of bob marley's songs. The possibilites are endless, just keep your mind open and make your room the way you like

Red seems a bit much. Its been proved certain colours can change your mood. And red does the obvious pumping you up thing. Not great for a bedroom.
How about two walls one colour, another wall another colour and then an interesting wallpaper on the other wall? If the world is a cold place Make it your business to start some fires Formerly *Rainbow*Love* ![]() |

while i was reading this post,i got strange images of wall colors myself. i mean...its this design as i remember... :/
http://fc06.deviantart.com/fs27/f/20...er_queen_g.jpg http://thepilver.files.wordpress.com...bob-marley.jpg correct me if needed. anyways,i'm not really into mixing but for that theme, you need green, yellow(sunny color) and red. not about mixing all colors together but...maybe a very dark color(like midnight blue fading into a lighter color) on the two walls,or even two walls can be yellow/red(what i prefer) with bob marley's face(which is drawn/painted in black paint). as you said, green and red/yellow stripes going towards the face. the other two walls should be a much different color like green, the color that relaxes eyes. you can put paintings here,photos(vintage-ish photography),the green walls must be simple. the other two walls, not so sure. white would go in the strange design only,by my thought. white goes great with red,not yellow much though. :/ ( http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/conten...w-bedroom2.jpg ) http://0.tqn.com/w/experts/Decoratin...droom-Pics.jpg haha or dash of peach like in this picture http://bedzine.com/blog/wp-content/u...uk_bedroom.jpg sorry for the links btw. or do something more plain,green-red 3:3 walls,if you know what i mean. if you want to use two colors, maybe its good if they fade into eachother... ![]() |

I wouldn't recommend red for a bedroom(Unless you're going to be having a lot of sex in there). Remember that you're going to be sleeping in there. Red is an energizing and invigorating colour. I know about the effects of the different colours but I found a website online that seems to be accurate as I don't feel like typing it all out.
http://www.colour-affects.co.uk/psyc...ies-of-colours If you REALLY want it red, then by all means, do what you want, but be sure to consider that it may negatively affect your sleep. If you only have a small part of it red(or a lot of it is covered by posters, artwork, etc.) it would probably be okay. Heaven is high and earth wide. If you ride three feet higher above the ground than other men, you will know what that means. ~Rudolf C. Binding |
