worried about my school play (stage kiss) - December 24th 2010, 04:26 AM

okay, so im in this play called Robin Hood: The Next Generation and its about robin hood's daughter (who he so creatively named Robin) and im robin (the lead and im only 14) and theres this character named jared in the play who im supposed to kiss at the end. the kiss is optional, but still. i used to not like the guy who plays jared (lets call him Sam) but, i just spent almost three hours on the phone with him talking about random stuff. i think hes really nice and everything but i wouldn't go out with him or anything, and i would be fine letting him kiss me on the cheek at the end, but i dont want him to think that i like him more than a friend. hes a really cool guy and everything, and i really kinda want the stage kiss, but i dont want to lead him on (or seem like i am)....
im confused...
HELP!?

Hmmm...does he seem into you? If he does like you than maybe just a pec on the cheek is good...if he doesn't then go for the kiss but either way you could always just tell him that you like him a lot as a friend and hope you remain friends for a while...that way he knows you're not a girfriend option..idk...i would always come up to guy friends of mine that i KNEW liked me and tell them that there are rumors that we are dating or like eachtoehr or whatever and i just need to let him know now that i like him as a friend and a friend only so that way even if the rumors are still around..he doesn't rely on heresay to determine if he should ask me out..idk..thats a good way to sneak out the whole "i don't like you like that" card

I think a kiss on the cheek would be the best in this situation. I'm glad that you have gotten to know him better, which can make things less awkward. Maybe you could talk to the teacher who is in charge on the program and explain to him or her that you are fine with a kiss on the cheek. Let them decide if it flows with the play and your audience. This way, you aren't feeling pressured and it leaves it sorta open ended if you want to become more than a friend with Sam.

I think waiting would be fine, if that is what you are most comfortable with.
