Smile Driving lessons? - February 10th 2011, 11:54 AM

Hi i was just wondering what other people like about learning how to drive? If you and your instructor can have a laugh and joke? me and my instructor seems to spend more time laughing and that each lesson and its not about me making no mistakes its about my random conversations with her or my random questions or something similar or my random comments.
Obvisously don't put anything about illegal driving because u aren't good for doing that :P

Re: Driving lessons? - February 10th 2011, 12:30 PM

My instructor was really boring, not saying that I am that interesting myself but he would ask a few basic questions and I would answer then nicely and ask him too. But he would ask the same thing each day, and he had the worst memory ever as I would always have to remind him about things so I thought he was doing it on purpose to waste my time and money
I enjoy driving so thats what I made my lessons about, I dont pay someone £20/hour just to talk to me, he wasnt even a good instructor as we did the same stuff for a long time after changing to him and it got me really annoyed at him as I was doing it perfectly every time so I had a go at him about not doing anything different which shut him up and we did something new from that day. But nothing wrong with having a bit of a laugh if you have someone nice but its really all about the learning

Your instructor seems to be doing a good job in not making it tense. I guess if you get a more laid back instructor as opposed to a boring one, lessons are funner. Haven't taken any myself so I don't really know Oo.

Seriously? How would you learn if its not made fun,I'd rather have my daft instructor any day to half of other peoples instructors most of them sound miserable by sounds of it tbh i was discussing with my instructor the other day about how boring some of instructors sound shes like i know i've had many people change instructors to me and they say they fine me more approachable e.g. if u need to know anything u can ask her i don't mean approachable as in a teacher or counsellor, they have learnt lots more etc. End of day if people want really boring instructors so be it i'm really happy with the instructor i have and won't be changing at all.

My instructor was a bit of a funny guy but he had this habit of putting some sort of hard candies in his mouth, taking it out then storing it ontop of the thing in the car you put down to block out the sun. He'd keep switching candies and it was rather disgusting. He was pretty relaxed about everything, never made it tense though. He instructed me for automatic cars then I got another one for manual cars, who was also fairly relaxed but did no disgusting things.

For me, when I was in Drivers Ed, it really made it tons easier that my instructor was funny. I would pay attention more. Not only that, but he was a GREAT role model. he has done more with his life then most people will.

My favorite part about learning how to drive was learning how stop lights worked, and learning how to merge onto free ways. Haha.

My instructor was brilliant. He was chatty and we got along well, yet when it came down to the serious stuff he was brilliant and taught me well. I passed first time with the worst examiner in the test centre so he must've done a good job!

So, what are you trying to say?
Learning with a lot of fun and any jokes from time to time makes you to understand and learn it better? I dont really think it does

Ok so say for example in schools or some place you learn stuff would u rather learn from some miserable boring sod or somebody who is happy, and has a joke?
I don't learn with people been serious at all times, everyone i know learns better when things are made fun, anyway driving you chose to learn well you do in uk unsure about drivers Ed tbh tho,so why would you chose to learn with someone boring? In school i got good gcses in subjects that were made fun,in college i've got above average grades because my tutors make the lessons fun,but hey if u like learning from miserable people please yourself

Okay, you better try to improve your understanding
What I've been trying to say is there's no serious studying when it comes to a lot of fun and any jokes

The thing that gets me through my driving lessons is the goal of passing - every lesson gets me one hour closer to being able to drive!

But tbh, i'm SO bored of learning now, I just want to hurry up and pass

I will learn how i actually learn i am not going to take your opinion because i believe that you are incorrect personally,I am learning perfectly fine i don't care what you say. Different people have different ways of learning, you learn by having a boring instructor so thats fine,i learn by having a laugh and a joke and thats fine so don't tell me what u feel is best please
