Finding a hobby/activity to distract me? - April 24th 2011, 09:06 PM

I realised i tend to feel most down in the dumps in the evenings when its time to calm down, chill and in our house its when we spend time on our own tbh..
but even on days when im not going out with friends i need something to do!
You dont realise how bored ive been the past two days

I do horse riding but obviously its not a hobby i can just 'do' whenever i feel like it,
I like writing but i can only write when i feel like it, and alot of the time i don't feel like it, same with drawing, and reading.
Has anybody got any ideas? :/
I already tend to clean my room, and sort my draws and wardrobe out, they're very clean and organised atm!

If you don't feel like writing, read instead. It might inspire you. If you don't feel like reading, maybe find a good movie. Just search the name of whichever one of your favourite actors, find out what movies they've made in wikipedia, then type the name of the movie in google with "movshare" after it. It's a good site for almost any movie, although you need a good antivirus. Avira free edition will do (just google Avira to find it :P).

You could also try listening to whatever of your favourite music. Try to learn how to play some instrument... maybe guitar (those are found pretty easily). If you don't have access to instruments easily, download FL studio, go through some tutorials and learn to use it, and maybe write your own music. It can really be fun once you know what you're doing, but it's a big piece of software so you need to learn a bit about it first. There are some tutorials on the official FL Studio website, but there's also this guy called "Ste" on youtube who does some good ones. Here's his link:

You could do some exercise in the evening... though that's more my kind of thing. Not many people feel like it 10pm.

To encourage yourself, join some online forum where you can show off your works and where people can leave positive comments. Odds are people will criticize you, so to stay safe from that and keep yourself motivated you can just post your art/writing etc here on teenhelp in the Self Expression section.

If you're too restless some evenings to focus on anything, go for a walk. It's nice in the summer. It kind of depends what area you live in too though.

If you've got some spare time, read this:

But don't if you're easily triggered. If you're not easily triggered then go ahead.
