Have any of you pledged a fraternity/sorority? Regardless of whether or not you have, what's your opinion of Greek life?

To be honest I think the old greek like seems really cool. I'm talking about times when they wrote on wax tablets. Personally I think Greek life would be strange, they have some odd things they enjoy, like plate smashing and they do a lot to do with fire which would terrify me :P

My stepsister is in a sorority and I know she really enjoys it because they have all become close friends. I'm not sure if I will pledge for one when I go off to college because personally it seems a little shallow the way they chose who joins, but I think it could be a fun experience.
