LIFEGUARD - July 15th 2012, 04:49 PM

Im currently working at our towns swimming pool in northern manitoba but only as a door person. I would really like to be a lifeguard next year but idk what I need! I am taking my bronze medallion and bronze cross this summer but do I need to finish level 10 swimming!? Cause i never did and im really worrried i wont be able to.

Since you already work at the pool, the best thing you could do would be to ask someone you work with about it, such as your manager or someone who is working as a lifeguard. I hope you get to be one since this is something you really want.

You need NLS (its the last level) plus an instructing course. You can start lifeguard training after bronze cross I think though (is medallion the second one? cause it's THAT one). Go to the national lifesaving society website. All the info is there. Plus if you wanna be a lifeguard the peeps at the pool can probs get you on track.

Thanks for the help! I talked to a few people and one pf te lifeguards didnt do any levels and she can do all of it. So as of today i an takin my first course for becoming a lifeguard! Bronze medallion (then bronze cross in August). Thanks for the help
