Question Worried About Upcoming School Year? - July 22nd 2012, 09:51 PM

So the city I live in has changed the school borders yet again. So practically everyone I knew is being transferred to a new school that is being built or is being moved to a different school. Now it just leaves me stuck at the same school where I won't know anyone except for the teachers and I'm stressing out way too much about it.
What I'm stressing out about is the fact that there is going to be completely new students I don't know at all and I know for a fact it's going to trigger my anxiety.
I already feel really uncomfortable and embarrassed about it and I don't know how to deal with it.

I'm sorry to hear about your current situation. That sucks! I think anyone in your position would be incredibly upset. Is there any way you can get around the new district rules? For example, one of my friends changed her address (used her mom's business address instead of her home address) in order to go to a different school. If the school makes a point of checking addresses to ensure they're home addresses vs. other addresses, then I would appeal to the school board and make your case. It would be a great strain on you to essentially start off in a new school, when all your other classmates are transferred to another school. Surely they can make one exception, given the unusual circumstances?

Re: Worried About Upcoming School Year? - July 23rd 2012, 02:05 AM

No I don't believe I can. Last school year when I moved to where I currently live now, I had to get a special transfer to just go to the same school I was at in 6th grade, or else I would have to go to a different school. One of my best friends asked our counselor and principle if there was anyway they could make an exception, such as a special transfer, but they both said no because they need students to go to the brand new school :c
I mean even if I did have the choice to move to another school, I'm also emotionally tied to my current school because I've been there for 2 years and I'd love to graduate there. I just have mixed feelings about the whole thing.
