Decorating Graduation Caps - November 13th 2013, 12:31 AM

So I've never heard of this until a few classmates were talking about it. I plan on decorating my graduation cap. Has anyone else seen this actually done before? I think it looks pretty neat. The college hasn't banned it yet.

I've never heard of this.... though at graduations here you pay an inordinate sum of money to hire a cap and gown for two hours and spend most of your focus on getting it to stay on your head!!

We pay 30 bucks to own ours. So it's probably 15 for gown, 10 for cap, and 5 for tassel.

Check out tasseltoppers.com They are a professional way to decorate your grad cap. They have a cool design tool to create your own and they have a few hundred pics of students who have already worn the product successfully. I wore one at my graduation and everyone loved it!!!

I do like the site! I just wished they had more cute nursing stuff to throw on top.

Well, I don't know about at college gradutations.. since I'm not there yet, but I graduated my own for my highschool graduation and there was several others that did. I thought it was a great way to make me stand out.

We're allowed to decorate ours. I know a friend of mine decorated his with condoms. Probably what I'll do, haha!

Yours are a LOT cheaper! $30 for the whole thing?! My university is expensive.

Yeah. We had a 15% discount on top of that so it was probably 35 originally.

They give people the option of renting the caps and gowns too for 10 bucks. I am going to donate my gown after I am done so other people who make a lot less than I do can wear one of the black gowns. Same thing with my nursing uniform although I am going to order a patch to keep.

I am trying to decide if I will put the pink stones in randomly or if I'll create a border. I think I may stick them in randomly instead of a pink border so if any fall off it'll be less noticeable.
