I need advice - January 12th 2014, 08:07 PM

Okay, I really don't want to hear about how I messed up. But I did. I have a really low gpa (1.15) and I have to get it up to a 2 by the end of this semester. HAVE TO. If I don't I can't go back. Is it possible to get it up to a 2 by the end of one semester? If so, what kind of grades to I need to make to make it happen? I'm taking 15 hours worth of classes.

Without knowing how many classes, really hard to tell if you can or can't get it up. What you could do is work out if you score max possible marks in your remaining hours, what will that give you?

Have you spoken to your academic advisor? They have a lot of knowledge around this sort of thing. They also may be able to offer you advice on options.

Your school will also have some form of counsellor on staff, that might be someone else to talk to.

Feel free to email/PM/VM/whatever me if you want. I'll answer as soon as I can.

Hey there! This would be a great question to ask your academic or guidance counselor, as they will have access to your transcript. By looking at your transcript, they can calculate what grades you would need for this semester's classes in order to reach a 2.0 GPA.

By the way, do you need a 2.0 for the semester, or a 2.0 for your overall GPA? If it's the former, then I believe you need at least a C in all of your classes. If it's the latter, then unfortunately, it may not be possible to raise your overall GPA by 0.85... but again, that's something your academic/guidance counselor would be able to confirm. Maybe A/A+ grades would make it possible to achieve your goal, depending on how many credits you've earned over the entirety of your time in high school.
