One day you wake up and you hear this familiar voice talking over the phone, and you realize that you don't much like anything they are saying. Worse, now they are talking about you in a less than flattering way, and complaining about everything under the sun. You wonder "Where did I go WRONG?"
Why do they feel that way, when did they start sounding so shallow and cynical? Do they really hate everyone here that much?

Does your teenager behave with respect towards you? Towards other adults? Towards their friends?
Do other people's teenagers behave with respect?
There are probably many people shaking their heads and saying 'No, absolutely Not!' Using the words 'disrespectful, aweless, bad-mannered, blasphemous, contemptuous, discourteous, disgracious,ill-bred, ill-mannered, impertinent, impolite, impudent, insolent, irreverent, misbehaved, out-of-line, profanatory, profane, sacrilegious.'
I'm sure that in years gone by, older people used some of these same words to describe US! Yes, I think it might be true! And this is a bit over the top - even to describe our parents when they were young.

Re: Getting Around the Walls Your Teenager Puts Up! - October 26th 2014, 08:51 AM

Are there parents even reading this? This is a teen website afterall.
And I personally really dislike the thought off my mom listening into my phone calls.

Helping others sometimes makes it easier to feel good about yourself and help yourself.

So PM me if You want.
