Hey. I think it's cool that you want to join the military As to your predicament about what field you would like to be in my first bit of advice is keep calm. Sometimes decisions like these can be pretty stressful. To help you make your choice, consider making a list of pros and cons. By making this list you will see the good and bad aspects of each field, and give you more things to think about. Good luck making a choice.

If you ever need advice or a friend to talk to, I'm here Feel free to PM or VM me.

Well, if you are in the US you don't get that much of a choice what jobs you get to do if you enlist. If you are lucky, your preferences will be taken into account.

Navy you will probably not be on the front lines. I am not sure what you mean by Navy special forces unless you are referring to SEALs in which case you would end up on the front line.

With the Navy, my boyfriend was an engineer on the diesel ships. He found a job that makes about 100,000 a year in an area where the median household is about 35,000. I make about 45,000 a year as a nurse. He was "in combat" in Iraq but all he did during that time was play around on the computer in the engine rooms because his ship was escorting another ship.

I would begin studying now and getting into physical shape. The military is being picky now with the bad economy. You can find asvab books online.
