How do I make my boss a happier person - April 4th 2015, 07:49 PM

So fortunately I got a job. But the boss and her daughter are very negative. It is a mom and pop and you can just tell neither have a happy life.

The mom:
-uses a condescending tone with me. as if she thinks im dumb or something. I have talked back to her over this- I know I shouldn't but I get defensive when someone uses that tone on me.
- promised to give me more hours- but the very next week she decided to make one of my "on days" her off day of the week-indefinitely.She still hasn't increased my hours.
- only seems to notice small faults. micromanages.
- always has a scowl on her face
- yesterday she left at the end of the day to go somewhere - and came back 30 minutes after closing time (after my shift) . After she came back- she had a really bad scowl on her face and rather than apologize for making me wait overtime for her, she began quizzing me " did you do this , that" with a condescending face that showed that she expected me not to have done it.
- you can see her negativity from a mile away when no customers are around- her face really shows it.

The 18 y/o daughter:
-gives one word answers
-often gives frustrated sounding answers.
- argues with her mom out loud over stupid shit.
- seems to have a very bad case of plumbers crack every single day. -even when she is standing up.
- always has a scowl on her face

The negativity at the place I work really annoys me- especially after all the customers leave and its just me and them.

Sounds like a terrible place. If you don't have any positives to offer about the place/job, then you're better off leaving.

You can't change people you can only change yourself. So if your unhappy and think she is treating you badly quit.
