My transfer policy - September 4th 2015, 06:00 AM

Lately I've had a self-destructive pattern of behavior at my college. I'll start by explaining that I hate this place. With every pulse of my heart, I hate this school more, and my reasons for going here seem pettier and weaker as time goes on. I'm almost done filling out my transfer application. But anyway, I have no friends here. Acquaintances, yes; friends, no. Part of this is because 1. I hate 99% of the people I meet here, and 2. I've begun cutting my losses, and I'm not even trying to make friends now, save for one blind date (maybe its a date? I don't really know) scheduled on Sunday. I don't know if its healthy or not, but I really don't want to regret leaving anything behind. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm completely desperate to find love (I don't think I've ever even been on a real date), I wouldn't have even considered the blind date in the first place.
I'm serious. The people here are pieces of shit. Every guy I meet is a total douchebag, and every one of my roommates has sucked ass. My current one smokes weed in my room literally every day and doesn't give a damn about privacy (extremely high on my priorities). A less forgiving version of me would send an anonymous tip to the cops to search my hall with a K9 unit. I am excited about that blind date, though; my mom knows her mom (eyeroll) and I had to throw away my pride to set it up, but apparently she's in the same boat as me on how she sees this college. Plus... she's gorgeous.
Rant aside, what do you guys think about my purposeful unfriendliness?

If you don't like the people, you don't, and you have two options. While you're at this school, you can hang out with people you don't like, or you need to be comfortable being alone. Personally, I've gone through periods where the people in my life didn't match my interests, and I end up spending most of my time alone. I'm an introvert and don't really mind this. But some people are completely incapable of being alone, and that doesn't make them weak. In those cases, use people for short-term needs and basic human contact, but as soon as you can make friends that you actually like, be with them. College is a huge transition period, and it's okay to not have that perfect social group they show on TV. Sometimes, you go through periods where you're mostly watching Netflix by yourself, texting people who live too far away from you, and tolerating idiots. That's okay. You'll meet people worth your time. Hopefully, your transfer goes through and you're able to go somewhere that you fit in better.

Hey, I wouldn't have gotten in there for undergraduate out of high school. If you've established good grades at state, who's to say you can't transfer? You just can't let your hatred cause you to slip and get bad grades.
