This is kinda basic so hopefully someone can expand more on my post. When you fit in to a group it makes you feel happy, accepted, and I guess in some ways acknowledged as a person. When not fitting in you feel the total opposite, alone, sad, unaccepted and ignored.

Re: Opinions on fitting in?? (ASAP) - February 17th 2016, 12:57 PM

Well, if I fit into a group I feel accepted, wanted, needed, energized, I feel that I mattered. When I don't fit into a group, I feel alone and unwanted, and sometimes I feel confused (what have I done wrong in my attempts to prove myself to this group?), and I find myself taking more time thinking how I can fix this, but other times I just don't care if I don't fit in some groups because it really doesn't affect my life.

And I suppose different people have their own "I don't care" threshold; like my mother didn't fit into her uni's faculty student community but she really couldn't care less (she's got her own reasons, and I found it very logical), but my grandmother always sounds like the group she's (effortlessly) fitted in when she was in high school really mattered to her.

Hope this helps!
