IB diploma? - June 9th 2016, 01:42 AM

Hey guys,

So we have the IB program at our school, and I was wondering if any of you guys did it or decided not to do it, and if you have any advice on this. I've heard that it's more work than it's worth, but I've heard from other people that it's not too bad and it's a good experience. I planned not to do it because I wanted to stay in journalism class, (I wouldn't have room for it in my schedule if I did IB) and I have 2 school sports that take up a lot of time, plus model UN and literary magazine and a couple of other smaller clubs. I just didn't think I'd be able to do all of that. But I was looking at my schedule and I'd only have to switch one class next year to be on track for IB (plus doing the extended essay and CAS project).

So does anyone who's done IB have any advice on whether or not I should do it/how to manage all of this if I do end up doing it?

Thanks!

I did do the IB, and graduated this year.
It is a lot of work tbh, but you can definitely do MUN etc. Also, consider where you are going for uni.
If you're only applying to the States, then it may not be the best idea.
Also, it depends a lot on your combination of courses. EG: Taking Physics+Chem+Math Higher level is a ball buster. Then all your extra curriculars can be a problem.
Message me if you have any more questions

I went to an IB school. Never did it. It's extra work. My sister did AP in high school and she's now in law school. Its fine if you wanna do the work. But if you feel like its too much, theres no harm in not doing it. If you're a good student you can get into any school you want. Generally speaking
