During summer after junior year ends, does that make one a senior during that time? - January 2nd 2017, 10:39 PM

I was wondering, can I call myself a senior during summer after junior year?

I don't think it really matters. You can probably say you're a senior, or about to be one.

Like Dez said, it doesn't really matter but I have always called myself whatever I would be the following fall during the summer.

My philosophy is as a Senior you graduate and during the summer you're not a senior anymore. So in theory, once you finish Junior year you're a Senior.

That may just be me though.

When I was in high school I used to say that I was going to be a [insert grade level]. But, I don't know that it really matters all that much.

After the last day of Junior year...we always said we were finally seniors!

When I was in school, we would say that we were going into whichever grade we were going into the following year and then when we were finished grade 11, we said we were seniors/entering our senior year/had senior parties.

Here in the lovely country of Canada xD
We don't go by "Junior and Senior"
However, when I was finished grade 11 I would say that I am going into grade 12 in September. I stayed for an extra year of high school so I could do another student placement so I used to say I was in grade 12 plus

But honestly, it's up to you

I just say I'm going into my senior year as in about two weeks I will officially be a senior and in the last year of school. But before you start school again you can call yourself a senior, it's not like there's set rules surrounding it but seeing as you've finished your junior year you may as well say you are a senior or going into your senior year. It's really all up to you on how you want to say it.

I would say yes, it does make someone a senior. You certainly aren't a junior anymore. Saying you're going into senior year is also fine.
