How do you guys deal with procrastination? - August 28th 2017, 02:11 AM

I've been trying to stop for years now, and even though it's gotten better in recent months, what progress I've made is still nowhere near enough.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

What news from the West, O wandering wind, do you
bring to me tonight?
Have you seen Boromir the Tall by moon or by starlight?

Procrastination is a problem for me too lol. But I've heard a lot of people recommend setting deadlines for yourself that are earlier than the actual deadline - like, if your big paper is due on Wednesday, write down in your planner that you're going to finish it by Sunday night.

I think it can also help to just work a little bit every day on each assignment that is due soon, because breaking everything up into manageable and less scary pieces can help. If you decide that you're just going to work on each of your 3 big assignments for 20 minutes a day, but you start doing this 2 weeks before they're due, then you'll still get everything done on time, but it won't seem so overwhelming - because you're only working on each assignment for 20 minutes. This can help you avoid doing 2 weeks of work the night before the thing is due!
