Crazy Teacher - August 25th 2009, 08:49 PM

I don't know if I'm over reacting but my spanish teacher was going over our homework out loud. I answered a question wrong and he was like well that's 50 points off your grade you are now failing. Last time I checked I thought we were suppose to make mistakes so we can learn. Right? So my solution to this is talk to my counselor because I basically have a fear of him. I don't know exactly why but yeah. So do think this right? And do you think I'm taking the right steps to get out of this issue?
Thanks.
Meg.

It's possible he was just joking, but if he upset you or made you uncomfortable, then it's good to deal with it. Speaking to a counsellor is a good idea, you can explain your concerns, and then either the counsellor can speak to him about it, or can talk to you both about it, to sort it all out.

Not around so much now that school's started

"Live a good life.
If there are gods and they are just,
then they will not care how devout you have been,
but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by.
If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them.
If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life
that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

If a teacher was serious about taking half off because I answered a question wrong, I'd probably cuss them out in front of the class. I don't think you're over reacting, though I do think you should talk to the teacher about it if you are now failing the class. If they don't listen, talk to a higher administrator.

And yes, in language you make tons of mistakes. Well, you make mistakes in anything really, but even more in language.

He was just playing with you, there is no way he can do that.
Maybe he can take 1 point but not 50.

it's good that you're talking to your councler. your counsler may be able to help you work up the nerve to talk to this teacher and tell him that you don't think it's fair that he is taking so many points off for one problem. because that is definitly not right.
