Six Days until AP Hell. - August 26th 2009, 11:03 PM

I start my first day of junior year in SIX DAYS.
Am I anywhere near ready?
Well, sort of.
I have my backpack and notebooks and pens and TI-84 calculator and my mandatory purple lock.
I still remember my combination and my lunch PIN number.
... I think.

But this year, my schedule is loaded.
And I mean, LOADED.
I've always been an Honors Student.
I took as many honors classes as I could in freshman and sophomore years,
passing all of them with As and Bs.
(Surprisingly, it was the half-year of regular US Gov that I got my first and only C+ in.)

But now I'm an AP Student.
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics
AP English 3
AP U.S. History
as well as Honors Latin 3.

I do have a study,
and I don't know how that ended up working out.
But at least I have it.

How do I survive this huge hole I'm throwing myself into
so that I can maintain at least a 4.0 GPA?

Trying to be as nice as I can, and having a general idea of the school systems in New England, I would guess that a 4.0 in those classes is going to be a stretch unless you become a super studier (is that a real word?). Some people can be super studiers, I think it is more common in girls then boys anyways.

I am taking AP Bio, AP Calc, AP Gov, and AP Physics. I am wrapping up my summer work and it's hell, even though History AP's aren't ever hard. If you get two A- and 2 B+ in those classes your WGPA will look absolutely great, colleges really love a lot of AP classes as long as you don't get C's. My goals for my classes are B+ in Bio (hardest class in the school), A- in Calc, A in Gov, and A in Physics. Realistically I see B-, B, A, A- respectively.

Good luck! and I start on tues, not looking forward to it at all.

Honors and AP classes boost your GPA higher in my school. My minimum GPA was a 3.6 with two A's in normal classes, an A- in latin, a C in gov, and B range for everything else. I'm usually in the 4.2 GPA range with all A's except for 1-2 B's. AP boosts it even higher. I'm just afraid of getting C's and low B's in ALL the classes. I'm anticipating a B in English already since it's my worst subject and I BARELY got in.

Oh...my bad, I figured you were on a 4.0 scale, 4.0 being an A in any class. My school basically punishes us in class rank for taking honors/AP classes. My GPA is 3.55 UW (which is how class rank is judged) and I have kids with 4.0 in CPII classes ahead of me.

Oh well, good luck anyways. My worst subject has always been english because I can't write formally at all.

I would study hard and asks for help if you need it. DO NOT be afraid to asks for help that is what teachers are there for, also do NOT tear yourself up over one bad grade it is good to try your best to be a good student but take it from me you don't NEED too much stress.

that looks like a real rough schedule im going into my senior year and all i have is AP ab calc and AP physics. at least your school weighs your AP classes which helps a lot. ive heard that in AP physics that they use calc before you learn in calc class though which can be pretty crazy. anyways good luck

Our physics class isn't calc-based. Some are, but ours isn't. You have to be taking/taken precalc first to get into AP physics.
