1st Day of HS - September 1st 2009, 09:48 PM

I had my first day of freshmen year today... It went basically okay, but the school is huge and i'm feeling really overwhelmed with everything i'm also worried about staying close to several friends, i know that's not vitally important, but i'm a pretty shy person. any advice for me?

Don't worry the size of the school won't matter after about two weeks you'll know your way around really well.
Try to get your friends to join some clubs with you so you can see them after school. Also joining clubs is a great way to make friends.

Give it some time and it will get a lot easier for you. If you have a question about something just ask a teacher or another student most of us would be happy to help and it is a good way to start a conversation and make friends.

Many other students would be in the same position you're in, they're uncertain and worried. Give it time and you'll know your way around the school, you'll know the people in your classes and you'll quickly decide who you like and dislike. If your school is very large, then there are probably various athletic teams and other clubs so chances are, at least one of them interests you and you could hop in it. You can also try to talk to those in your class whom you like, especially if you're able to see who has some similarities with you.
