counslors - September 1st 2009, 10:52 PM

I'm just wondering what people talk to their counslors about. I want to get to know my counslor because he will write a colledge recommendation for me, but I don't know what to go to him about.

Your counselor will most likely write a recommendation for you anyway, but go in there and introduce yourself one day and just start talking. He'll probably also do a lot of the talking. After all, it's his job to get to know the students - I'm sure he's had practice!

I became very close to my guidance counselor, to the point that we had each other's phone numbers. I talked to her about everything and she helped me through so much in my last two years of highschool. To start the conversation, I went in and said "Can we talk?" For me it was different though because I was struggling and that's how I got to know her. She's like one of my friends now.

There is always hope. PM me anytime.

As Katrina said, your guidance counselor will most likely write your recommendation as many colleges/universities require one recommendation from a guidance counselor. You should make an appointment with your guidance counselor, introduce yourself to him, and just tell him your interests, etc. You should try to communicate often with your guidance counselor throughout high school, because it will really benefit you.

How did Mandela get the will to surpass the everyday,
When injustice had him caged and trapped in every way,
How did Ghandi ever withstand the hunger strikes and all,
Didn't do it to gain power or money if I recall,
It's to give; I guess I'll pass it on
