Question Any tips? - October 18th 2009, 04:04 AM

This year I'm starting my final year at school.

Does anyone have any tips on doing well on my final exams and with studying?

Thanks for the help guys!

Review, review, review. Don't wait until the last minute to study for finals. Just take at least ten minutes every night for every class and review what you are doing, or do back to past notes.
For classes like math, I find it helpful to condense everything on to one sheet of paper, that way I not flipping through a bunch of papers and going through 100s of pages looking for one forumla.
I love making flashcards, but it doesn't work for some people depending on their study style.
Hope all works out for the best!

My biggest piece of advise would be - don't fuse out. For example, in my history teacher's final year he did the whole full-on revision thing, studying 5 hrs a day, late nights etc. He got terrible results.

My advice, based on what I did for my Junior Cert (midway) exams, is to study a good bit but not so much it starts taking a toll on your body. Learn how to cram as much revision as possible into 1 hr, fully concentrating for as long as possible. Don't waste time with spending half of your "study" time staring at the wall in front of your or similar. Don't compromise your sleeping and free time (you need some free time). Don't just read, write things down and revise what you've written down (it glues better that way). And remember, a clear head in the exam hall is better than the whole night before spent revising what you already know anyway.

What always works for me is that I go to sleep early the night before and get up 1 hours before usual, and study for that one hour. So everthing is fresh in my head.

Everyone is born right-handed. Only the greatest overcome it.
