I changed class, but i feel bad - January 7th 2009, 09:57 AM

Hello.
I'm glad TH is back.
I've made a thread here before about moving to other class/school, where i don't know anyone, beside the teachers.
And I already moved, i started 2 days ago, but I don't feel good there and with this change.
I don't know anyone there, so i feel a bit out of place, and I find out that I don't handle change as well as I thought.
For me, school become like a real job, something that I somehow enjoyed and a goal, something that I didn't mind wake up in the morning, because that's all I've ever known, and that started my day.
Now my schedule is always at night(from 7pm to 10pm),from monday to thursday, and everytime i have to go i feel nervous, i don't want to go, and i don't feel motivated as I used to.
All this change was for me to finish high school easier, but it's making it painful to end.
Now I don't know if i can do this...

It's natural to feel anxious about a new change. Not everyone can settle into a new environment instantly and it does take a little while to adapt. That is totally normal. Perhaps think of it positively in that it is a way to meet new people and form new friendship bonds. Get yourself involves in extra curricular activities - it's a great way to meet like minded people.

I know it is hard to settle into a new place, I moved to university in September, but after time and when you have started talking to people and making friends then things do get better. Give it a chance.

If you are really worried then perhaps speak to your tutor, your family or some close friends about how you are feeling?

Take care,
Vicki

Hey,

I know it's hard getting used to new classes and new people but that's almost the beauty of it, you get a chance to meet some new people. I know right now you're finding it hard but things do get easier, you have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Try and put your hardest efforts into the work that you do when you're putting a lot of effort in things always seem to get much better.
PM me anytime.

Thank you all for the support.
Today went a bit better, but I'm still a bit uncomfortable there, with the class and the new schedule.
I hope i get used to it...
