Waitlist - January 11th 2010, 01:46 AM

I was just wondering what my chances were of getting into a class that has a wait list of 10 people. I know that 10 people is not that many but I am not on that wait list at all. I would be adding. I might try to join the wait list but I am not sure if I can. So, does anyone know anything about what my chances would be?

Depends on the school, the class, the semester, where you live, etc..
I would suggest calling Student Services at the school and asking them.

If it were here at our main university you would probably would get in, but if it was at our 2nd university I'd be doubtful.

Re: Waitlist - January 13th 2010, 08:55 AM

It depends heavily on the class size of the course. If the class size is, say 50 then your odds aren't as good as when the class size is 150 since there are more people in the class who can drop. It also depends how long ago the class started because if it started fairly recently, then within the first week or two, people drop as they may not care for it or they realize it entails something they didn't want. If the class started later, then although some may still drop, there's a question you have to face in that if you get in, how much content have you missed? This is one of the reasons waitlist deadlines are in place so do keep that in mind because the class won't stop to accomodate you entering late.
