Are YOU good at chem? - January 26th 2010, 10:28 PM

Great! Please answer these for me if you can! I have an exam tomorrow morning

I'm just wondering about hydrolysis stuff, can someone please check for me?

what I had was this

ACID HYDROLYSIS OF POLYAMIDE: hot aqueous HCl forms -COOH and -NH3+
For AMINO ACID, conc. HCl, H2O (SEEMS TO CONTRADICT? how can be it conc with H2O?), reflux, forms positive charged amino acid..

ALKALINE HYDROLYSIS OF POLYADMIDE: hot aqueous NaOH forms -COO-Na+ and -NH3
for AMINO ACID, same at 100*C, forms -COO-Na+

ACID HYDROLYSIS OF POLYESTER: hot aqueous HCl forms -COOH and -OH
For ESTER- same but reflux

ALKALINE HYDROLYSIS OF POLYESTER: hot aqueous NaOH forms -COO-Na+ and -OH
For ESTER- same but reflux

Then naming salts of carboxylic acids eg CH3CH2COO-K+ is that potassium propanoate??

naming salts of amides... e.g. CH3CH2CHNH3+Cl- What is this called?

Last thing sorry

you know for nitration of benzene, its conc. H2SO4 and conc. HNO3
but then for forming diazonium salt its HNO2 ?? got me confused just checking its right

thank you so much if you've answered these for me !
