Its so depressing.. - March 24th 2010, 01:46 AM

Its so depressing..
I've been without a job since September. I moved back to my home city in November, so I have basically been properly searching for a job since November.. thats 5 months..

Everytime I apply its "unfortunately there were more suitable candidates to the role."
This is for any retail or bar work!

Even bars in my town are refusing me, I have experience but apparently people with more experience are applying...

Its so fucking upsetting and depressing getting the same rejection every single day!!!!

Rant over.
And no, I dont want to go back to education, infact, I cant. As I am living with other family now I am back in my home city and I have to pay rent, so education is a big no as it will offer me about 20 a week maximum due to there income.

I speak my mind on situations.
I am sorry if you dont like it.
I am happy if you can take it.

Hey Dan,

I know how you feel about the experience thing You are right, it is so frustrating! In terms of retail, could you volunteer at say a charity shop for a couple of months? That will give you retail experience and could give you more of a chance. I know it won't pay though but it could give you chance for better pay in the future. Could you try places like pubs/cafes? Even if it is just a pot-washer job, it will give you some money. Enough to give you experience and then you can move on to get a better paid job.

Have you considered jobs in other areas? Something like admin maybe. Check out the Job Centre or somewhere like that, they will probably be quite useful.

Take care.

You have to have the negative things in life
to be able to appreciate the positives.
