Re: University Question - February 4th 2009, 03:32 PM

Each AS/Alevel is worth a certain number of points...AS being half of A2...
A2:
a=120
b=100
c=80
and so on...
Some uni's ask for a certain number of points eg.240 to get on a course. The majority will still state a grade in certain subjects...e.g 280 points with A in English lit...

Re: University Question - February 4th 2009, 03:34 PM

A level grades are given points and universities say how many points they want. If I remember correctly the scale is:

120 = A
100 = B
80 = C
60 = D
40 = E

A lot of unis don't consider AS but they are worth half of the A2 ones above. A points tariff means you can get them in any way so some unis specify a subject specific grade

For example 300 points is either BBB or ABC and 400 is BBBB or ABBC
