HELP!!!!!!!! - June 6th 2010, 06:58 AM

I am in 10th and here it is a very important year. If I don't get good grades this year, my whole future will be affected. Before school started, I had taken all these resolutions as to how I'll study well and all that. And I do wanna follow all that but when I sit to study, I just can't concentrate. I've been trying to finish history for 3 days now. I get extremely bored. I don't wanna go on like this. So pleas, any suggestions as to how I can concentrate?

hmm concentrating was the worst thing for me in school. I could never concentrate that well mainly because it was all very boring.
so the best advice i can give is try to find it very interesting if you think its interesting you will stick to it. or just study a little bit each night there you get studying done and wont loose concentration.

Make sure you're in a quiet place and there's nothing to distract you. Maybe play some music or something to liven things up? Like Mr.sexyface said, try a little each night so you don't get too bored and what-not. But don't make it too late at night either. Try having a designated time to do your work, like a schedule. For example, come home at 2:00pm, do schoolwork until 2:45pm, and then free time... Something to that effect.
Best of Luck!

First of all, turn off your computer. If you have to look something up on the internet or write an essay, turn off any Firefox apps or programs that might have distracting pop-ups. If you're the type of person to constantly send and receive text messages, turn off your phone or place it in another room with the ringer off, so you won't be tempted to pick it up and respond.

Pick a designated room/area and time to study. You don't have to start and stop right on the dot, but have a general idea of when you need to hit the books. Make small goals for yourself. For example, if you have to read 50 pages each week, try to make it your goal to read 10 pages per day (Monday - Friday, leaving your weekends free). When you sit down on that first day, say "After I have read 5 pages, I will get a snack". Then, once you get to the fifth page, tell yourself "I'll read one or two more pages, then get that snack". Keep telling yourself to go just a little bit further for just a little bit longer, and perhaps you'll even get all 10 pages read in one sitting! Don't push yourself, though, because it won't do you any good if you begin to zone out. Take a break if needed, but don't take longer than is needed.

Hey along with what has been said, you also may find it helpful to plan a time line. For example if you have an assignment due in two weeks. break it down into smaller goals. This will cut down on the stress and being bored because you can actually stay fresh and take breaks.

Also take short say 10 minute breaks each hour to help stay fresh.

good luck.
