Possibly the best homework ever... -
July 13th 2010, 03:41 PM
For those of you who know, I'm going to college to study to be a teachers assistant. I'm hoping to be able to work with special needs children ANYWAY. We've been given homework to watch children's TV shows, learn nursery rhymes, and read children's books. Like I don't anyway.
Anybody want to help me?

Boobah is creepy, they scare me.
Just put on CBeebies, then you get to see Tweenies, Big Cook Little Cook and whatever other shows they still have on there. (The Shiny Show?)
Throw those curtains wide
One day like this a year would see me right

Do they have to be current shows or can they be shows from the '90's-00's? If so, I've got a list of shows that are older..
Little Bear
The Big Comfy Couch
Franklin
Arthur [I had to add it in ]
Gullah Gullah Island
Mister Roger's Neighborhood
Little Bill
Blue's Clues
Sesame Street
Play With Me Sesame
Oobi
Rolly Polly Olie
Bear In the Big Big House
Out Of the Box
PB&J Otter
Dragon Tales
That's all I could come up with off the top of my head, since these were shows I used to watch.

Well, my little brother and sister are obsessed with 'In The Night Garden'. But my favourite show was 'Arthur'; best theme song ever .
And I didn't know you were studying teaching, Rie. I am too, except I'm going to be dealing with pesky high school kids. For the life of me, I can't remember why I decided that was a good plan .

I love Arthur. I still watch it.
I'm going for the younger age groups. I don't think I'm scary enough to control older ones, bearing in mind how much of a terror I was at school. -ahem- You can help me with coursework. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a good idea. Going back into education five days a week, two days on placement and three days in the college...it doesn't sound so appealing any longer. Hopefully I'll be able to go into special needs and deaf teaching, I did a little work experience with special needs teaching. I have my CRB check today.

Haha that sounds like my sort of homework!
I'm working in a nursery at the moment; babies right through to 4 year olds split into three different age group classes and we had a bit of relaxing time watching TV when it was raining outside, someone asked for The Gigglebiz'...wow, it's probably the worst thing I've ever watched!
