15 students each year - July 20th 2010, 04:52 AM

The college only accepts a few students into the paramedic program each year. I am terrified. Honestly. There are 2 sections of anatomy and physiology for paramedics as a pre-req offered each quarter with 20 students each so that is fall, spring, and summer and they accept students only 15 students for the paramedic courses once a year. 120 people are trying to get in and that's kind of scary knowing the odds.

Hell, getting into the nursing program was a hell of a lot easier. I won't start till 2013 or 2012 depending on which colleges I am looking at, but still. Damn. I better start studying for the EMT-B course. Although, they may accept more or less as it says there are zero seats taken and there are 15 seats still open.

I really want to do paramedic for awhile and then transition into nursing. It will be easier getting my RN asap and then doing the transition.

I guess I have to outshine them. I know some of the LPN stuff when I was in that tract came easy, hopefully the EMT courses come easy too so a lot of extra work will go a long way.
