Question What do you think? - October 13th 2010, 07:31 PM

I've wanted to be a music teacher in secondary school since I was about 14, and now I'm not so sure. I still want to teach music, but I'm thinking about doing it privately in my own time while doing another job the rest of the time.

My CPN suggested that I look into social work, because she thinks I will be really good at it and enjoy it. So for those of you who know me and have seen my advice and everything on here...do you think I could do it and would be suited to it?

Any advice or opinions are very welcome!

"It gives me hope. I love you so much. You give me a reason to breathe. Its something for me to not kill myself for" >>> means so much :')

Hey Georgia,

One thing I must say here is you should do what you want to do. I know you said in your blog that your family may not be happy with you unless you do music. But at the end of the day this is your life so you should choose what career you go into.

As you know I know quite a bit about social work! It is really interesting and rewarding but it can also be really tough at times with some of the things you come across. If you really wanted to do it then I would say you need to get stable first. Perhaps you should have a look online at like what it involves and everything and see whether it is for you. Either way I think you would make a great social worker with your own life experience
