Question community service?? - February 23rd 2011, 02:31 AM

hey so to graduate at my school u have to do 10 hrs of community service. thing is...im homeschooled so im kinda on my own here. In Ca the laws suck and im not allowed to help at animal shelters till im 18. So dose anyone have any ideas of community service that a 17 yr old can do?

Of course

-Google your county or city and go to the official website...You should find tons of volunteer opportunities there.

-In addition to this, you can google your area to find local soup kitchens or shelters or a local Salvation Army.

-Nursing homes are good options as well. There are usually facilitated activities such as bingo that you can volunteer to help out with.

-Also check out local nature conservatories if there are any around.

-Many libraries accept volunteers for various services, like shelving books or even reading to kids.

-And some fair-trade stores are run by volunteers (:

-If you affiliate yourself with any church or youth group, you can volunteer there as well=]

I believe thatyou're inherently beautiful : )

Hi I had to do service hours to graduate too from high school when I went in CA. One place I went was to the salvation army they usually have something there for you to do.

All of these ideas are really good

I had to do the same thing upon graduating high school. I did the soup kitchen and nursing home when I was in high school. It's a really great experience because you are making a difference in the community.

Local pet shelters often take volunteers too. Some elementary schools would be happy to have a volunteer help out.

And here you are living, despite it all.
