Switching schools - January 10th 2009, 06:25 PM

For the past few months I've been depressed. I started seeing a counselor, and that's helping. I thought I was getting better but ever since I came back to school after winter break I feel depressed again. I only have a couple friends and it feels like we're becoming more and more distant. I don't like my teachers, and I have trouble concentrating. I just don't like it there, at all. I was thinking about maybe next year switching to a different school. I'll be in high school, so there'd be a lot of new students anyway but I'm not sure if I should just wait until high school comes and see if it's any better or start completely new.

You're everything I know that makes me believe
I'm not alone
You're in everyone I see
So tell me
Do you see me?

In the end it is your choice. Although you never know things could change between now and high school where your friends become closer and all that.

Also remember if you are going into high school it will be alot more different with a lot more students and new people. So you will be able to make other friends and start afresh and be yourself, new teachers too who treat you more like a young adult not to mention new electives and classes.

Always remember to put your happiness first.

It is your choice, but try to give your school a chance. Things can definitely change!

How did Mandela get the will to surpass the everyday,
When injustice had him caged and trapped in every way,
How did Ghandi ever withstand the hunger strikes and all,
Didn't do it to gain power or money if I recall,
It's to give; I guess I'll pass it on

As has been said, things may change. But, if you feel as there is nothing holding you to your current school and you truly feel as though you would be better off starting over again, then I see nothing wrong with transferring schools.
However, depending on the school you transfer to, things could go badly as well. You will be seen as the new kid and depending on the type of school that may be good and it may be bad.
Really, the choice is yours as long as your parents agree and as long as you aren't tied to the school due to where you live or something like that.

Its your school life, ultimately the decision is up to you.

Why dont you write a list of all the pros & cons about staying in the same school or moving schools.

If you are due to start high school soon, do you really want to start a fresh twice?

Just have a think. & do whatever you heart wants to do .
