Premier League predictions? -
July 28th 2011, 09:20 PM
I may be talking to myself here as I'm pretty sure I'm one of the small handfull on here that love football!
Regardless, let's have your top 4 for this year and your bottom 3!.... Here's mine 1st - Man UTD - as a Arsenal fan it pains me to say this but united look nailed on to retain the title imo, adding in the likes of Dea ge, young and Jones to a already solid squad and with Chicharito set to shine in his second season I fear United will clinch the title! 2nd - Chelsea - With the new gaffer in place this should be a interesting season for chelsea and we should see a good attacking orientated team, just won't be enough to catch Man U though. 3rd - Man City - Finally showing signs of gelling as a team after last years success in the FA cup, and with aguero and tevez still knocking about there will be plenty of goals in this team! 4th - Arsenal - think Arsenal will just nick 4th place of off liverpool but will not mount a serious title challenge unless wenger brings in defencive reinforcements and a goalkeeper. Bottom 3 - Wigan - QPR - Swansea |

Yes, there are only a few fans, and even less girls...
For the prem I think... 1st - Man U (I used to support them and as a Posh fan who has a couple of there players on loan and Alex Fergersons son as a manager I feel obliged to say them.) 2nd - Arsenal (These are my prem team, mainly because of Robin Van Persie but hey, I want them to do well and they are in with a chance if they play real greeeat) 3rd - Man City (They're rich... money is everything in football) 4th - (I really didn't want to put Chelsea on this list because I hate them that much so I guess I'll say) Liverpool... (I think it is possible because they are an OK team, but I do think Chelsea will be in top 3 )18th - Swansea 19th - Wolverhampton ![]() 20th - QPR It's the champs that I care more about though and my knowledge of prem is a little iffy... Let me just get a little something out of my system..
U-N-I-T-E-D, UNITED ARE THE TEAM FOR ME! Okay, I feel better now. ![]() My predictions are as followed: 1st Manchester United but then again, are you really surprised? I guess I'm pretty biased but I think that even though we have lost some crucial players through retirement at the end of last season we have replaced with with some cracking young players that are full of promise. I'm hoping that we'll sign a center midfielder before the transfer window shuts though. 2nd Chelsea - Even though I think they need to bring in a few players to freshen up the squad I think they're onto something good with their new manager if they give him the chance to actually build a team rather than look for the short term solution all the time. 3rd Arsenal - Don't get me wrong, I think they do need to sign a good handful of players but if they can keep hold of their big players then I can't see them losing out on 3rd place because they still have some cracking talent and I think it's the season that a few of the young guns will step up and make themselves heard. 4th Manchester City - I still think they will struggle to be consistant and I think they will have all sorts of troubles with some of the egos that they have at the club. They can usually pull it out against the bigger teams but they lack that spark when it comes to playing the teams that are lower down the league. They're buying some amazing talent but they're not building a team of any sort. That's just my opinion anyway. It'll be close though I think. Tottenham and Liverpool will be pushing for that 4th spot all the way to the wire I think. As for relegation I'm going to go with: 18th Wigan 19th Norwich 20th Swansea Just a small thought but would any of your football fans be interesting in setting up a TH fantasy football league for the season? It could be some interesting banter.

Ahh good, I knew there was some Football fans hiding out there!
Feel a little bad being a Gunner and yet I have placed them below both of you're predictions Just can't see them finishing 3rd let alone 2nd without a solid defensive outlet and lack of sheer brute power in the team!Good idea Jake, I'll be up for that sure!

1st: Manchester United. A little biased, because they're my team, but I'm not entirely sure about this pick. We'll hopefully get a quicker start to the season than last year, given that Rooney can score now, but I haven't been impressed by the transfers this summer. De Gea is good, although probably not yet as good as VDS, but Jones won't have much of an impact because he'll be competing for third-choice centre back with Smalling and Evans, and Ashley Young just isn't good enough for United. If we'd bought Sneijder or Modric, I'd have no hesitation in putting us in 1st, but Fergie's said there'll be no more transfers. We had problems in central midfield last year, and with Scholes gone they'll only get worse.
2nd: Chelsea. Still the biggest threat to United, despite Manchester City trying to turn themselves into the English Real Madrid. Suffered last year from a weird mid-season slump, which I think was a fluke. With an ageing squad, their performance will depend a lot on whether Torres starts scoring again. Still, their new manager is very good, and I think they'll be a strong contender for titles. 3rd: Manchester City. They've been doing better year after year, and they're adding yet more expensive superstars this summer. Aguero is great, although it might take him a while to adjust to the English game. Still, they seem to spend heavily on strikers and wingers while ignoring their defence, and I don't expect their tendency to choke against the other top teams to go away just yet. Definitely top three material, but not champions. 4th: Arsenal. Once again, not sure about this choice. It largely depends on what happens to Cesc Fabregas. If he leaves, I can see Spurs or Liverpool knocking the Gunners out of the top four. If he stays, they're in 4th pretty much by default, although their defence isn't getting any better. Liverpool still suck, and Spurs still implode. Bottom 3: QPR Wolves Swansea ![]() |

Manchester United
Chelsea Manchester City Liverpool Arsenal Manchester United will win the league title again Chelsea will come very close but not enough, Manchester City 3rd because their owners have invested a lot of money, Liverpool 4th because I decided it and Arsenal 5th because last season they didn't do well. I already played the League in the Fifa 11 and obviously Manchester United won. ![]() Jake I agree with you set up a TH Fantasy Football league! |
