Unhappy kick boxers? helppp - September 17th 2011, 05:22 PM

Have any of you ever just felt like quitting? I mean I've been in this for just a year and I've started competitive training for about a month and now I'm feeling really discouraged. Getting kicked and punched is not a big deal for me (everyone seems to think this is the problem) but the amount of other peoples opinions has got me down. It was literally like "wow it looked like you were getting really worked over" and this was said when I felt like I was doing a really good job. I'm not all into myself and think I'm the best boxer in the world, because I'm not, but I felt good about the progress I was making. This is a sport I've become really passionate about. I even dropped the sport I had been playing since I was 5 (I'm now 17) just so I could keep training.I thought maybe I had a chance but nobodys even telling me to not quit. So the question right now is to quit or not to quit?...

Well if you enjoy the sport that much then I think you should stick with it. You will always get better the more you practice, and you can't let others opinions bring you down. Try to block them out, because the important thing is you're doing the best you can. Who knows, maybe they are trying to bring you down because they know you are better than them.
